You already know all there is to know about how cable has evolved over the years, now’s the time to look back on some of the best shows and movies about TV out there. That’s right, surf your DIRECT channels for some of these great programs featuring a behind the scenes look at what it takes to be on cable…
Murphy Brown: This old school classic stars Candice Bergen as a loveable and tough network news host. It’s a great show with a lot of heart and you can catch reruns occasionally on some of the most obscure sitcom networks.
Mad Men: Not specifically about TV, Mad Men features the making and thought process behind some of the original cable commercials. Get an inside look at what it takes to run an ad agency in the 60s and exactly how TV advertising was monitored and sold.
Home Improvement: Tim Allen’s show about a show is a family classic and features lots of looks inside “Tool Time,” the fictional home improvement show Allen starred in. It’s a great audience production and a lot of the scenes revolved around the making of the show.
